Crawford & Company has a long-standing reputation for handling all types and sizes of losses in the global and local property and casualty markets. What is less known is the wide range of pre-risk reviews we can oilier our clients to facilitate the risk evaluation process.

We have developed a model for pre-risk reviews that we call the "observational model", this model ensures a wide ranging survey is completed by our local experts for review with and by your in-house risk engineers.

Our role can include:

  • Working closely with clients to validate insurance arrangements and review risks prior to commencement
  • Developing a customized risk review for any properly or casualty situation.
  • Advising on local features such as flood or earthquake risk.

Review Scope


Our "observational model" offers precise factual information in a pre-agreed format to make risk decisions more straightforward. The precise scope of the review would need to be agreed with you in advance. This would be a preliminary task undertaken by the Lead reviewer - a number of report formats are available to help this process.

Based on our understanding of your needs, the following issues are likely to be relevant

  • Compliance with claims handling protocols
  • Any unusual features
  • Management controls and audit

The scope of the review will embrace identification and evaluation of technical, organizational and economical weak points, dependencies etc. We will work with your risk engineering department to develop the review you want.

  • operational review - how the site fits into the value chain, dependencies
  • financial review - costs and NBV of assets, revenue and profit profile
